About Me
Meet Preeta Ganguli
Hi, I am Preeta Ganguli (she/her), a trauma informed holistic psychotherapist based in Gurgaon, India. My vision is a thriving world where people are present, attuned and compassionate with themselves and others. I work towards people finding safety and peace with themselves by providing a safe space for them to feel, discover and explore the myriad of emotions, thoughts and beliefs they are experiencing and have collected through their lives.
I work with people who are facing challenges in relationships, at the work place, with their families, or in daily activities, often showing up in the form of anxiety, depression, low productivity, difficulty with sleep, anger management issues, or a feeling of stuckness. I take a holistic approach that is primarily client centred, addressing the mental, emotional, spiritual and somatic manifestations of trauma. I incorporate expressive art, mindfulness, and concepts from somatic therapy, non-violent communication (NVC), neurologistic programming (NLP), shamanism, and internal family systems (IFS), amongst others.
I truly believe mental wellness cannot exist in an independent individual silo, and that every human being, irrespective of their privilege or status deserves a chance to be the best version of themselves. It is with this philosophy that I work on multiple levels in my practice - with children in a preventive capacity, with individual adults towards healing, and with organisations to create spaces and systems that facilitate safety, growth and reduce trauma.
My Journey
People often ask me why I became a Psychologist. The roots were laid in my high school Psychology class. Studying the subject changed my perception, and as dramatic as it may sound, my life. It helped me deal with my own struggles to an extent and put me on the path of introspection, self discovery, and healing. I was determined from then itself that I needed to take the learnings of psychology and, what we now know as mental well-being, to as many people as I can and help them live more wholesome, peaceful lives.
My path has not been very direct and straightforward of course. After my masters, I began my journey as a school counselor working with reputed schools in Gurgaon, which i moved away from 3 years later to start I Am Wellbeing with my friend and colleague in 2015. I subsequently stepped down from the cofounder position a few years later to diversify my work and focus on lending my expertise in the field. In 2019 I assumed the position of Curriculum and Program Development Specialist at Neevam Foundation, and in 2020 I began my journey as an independent therapist and consultant.
Over my 10+ years of professional experience, I have worked closely with children and adolescents, teachers and caregivers, and adults across corporates, schools, and NGOs. I feel honoured to have been a part of so many stories, so many journeys, and strive to keep learning, and adapting, for the highest good of those that I work with.
